Dr. Ciro R. Martins

Dr. Ciro Martins has been practicing dermatology since 1987. He is board certified by both the American Board of Dermatology and the Brazilian Society of Dermatology.

Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, he earned his medical degree at the University of Sao Paulo School of Medicine, the most competitive and sought after medical center in South America. After completing his first dermatology residency at that institution, he was invited to come to the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions for a post-doctoral research fellowship in Immunodermatology. Upon finishing his fellowship, in order to obtain licensing and board certification in this country, he repeated his internship and residency training, this time at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. He then joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor in 1998, developing a very successful academic career as a clinician, researcher, and educator, and became an Associate Professor in 2005. During that time he joined the Johns Hopkins Cosmetic Center at Green Spring Station, where he developed an ever-growing interest in cosmetic and esthetic dermatology. In 2007, he transitioned to private practice and created CRM Dermatology, where he is now working full time. In addition to cosmetic dermatology, Dr. Martins’ other clinical interests include general medical dermatology, infectious diseases of the skin, skin conditions associated with HIV infection, and the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of skin cancer.
